New Incredible Hulk Trailer

Friday, May 16th, 2008 by Eoin

Here’s the latest Incredible Hulk trailer. Might be a little slow to load but I do like the HD quality.

I thought this film was a bad idea when I first heard about it. Nothing I have seen has changed my mind. I’ve seen their Hulk, I’ve seen their Abomination, I know the story from their trailers. Why should I both going to see this film?

Like Iron Man, I’ll just leave it to Frank. :)

Update I found a newer one. Still not convinced.

Twitterfone

I had been given a sneak preview of TwitterFone by Pat so I was looking forward to playing with it, but I’ve been so busy I only now got a chance to check this out.

The premise is simple: Sign up, call a local number, speak and what you say will be submitted as text to Twitter.

If you don’t know what Twitter is then this will be meaningless to you - video explaining Twitter in plain English here, and a blog post by me on Twitter here.

TwitterFone is a very cool site, looks lovely and worked perfectly for me on my first go. I have seen some rather interesting transcriptions arising out of it from other people, but it’s all part of the fun if you ask me!

Take this for example:

At 15 May, 2008 08:21 conoro said “Waiting for Louise and (Phelan?) Colder in Dublin. I would tell you there is moist in my t-shirt. yeyeah….”

I’m not sure that’s quite what Conor meant to send to Twitter, but it gave us plenty of entertainment, so who’s complaining? :)

I love the fact you can go and listen to the original recording, TwitterFone puts a link to a page with the sound file when it submits a tweet, at the time of writing this I couldnb’t check what Conor recorded, and I did also have some small issues in figuring out the registration process, but I think all those problems may be because the site is a little slow responding, I’m guessing because it’s been too successful. Now there’s a good complaint!

Well done Pat Phelan, and everyone involved on this really fun site.

Go and check it out. It’s fun to speak your Tweets!

Point Break: Indo

Wednesday, May 14th, 2008 by Eoin

The Cannes festival is just underway and already we have a bit of interesting news. Jan De Bont (director of http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111257/ and Twister) is to direct a sequel to the 1991 movie Point Break.

Details are a little sketchy as yet. It is written by original scribe W. Peter Iliff and is set 20 years after the first movie (guess it’ll be out in 2011 then?) and to be shot in Singapore and Southeast Asia.

IESB.net tell us;

When Billy Dalton, military special ops and star surfer, is disqualified from the pro-surfing tour, he takes off for the coast of Bali looking for the perfect wave. While there he’s recruited by a private security force who are trying to find a gang known as The Bush Administration, surfing outlaws and modern day pirates who work like “The Ex-Presidents,” a bank robbing crew from Malibu twenty years ago.

They also mention that the producers have “reached out” to both Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves but no casting has as yet been confirmed. I can’t see Swayze doing it considering his health which is a pity as I’m sure he’d have loved to do it a year or so ago. My gut feeling is that Reeves will reprise his role given his Speed links with DeBont.

I wasn’t crazy about the original but guess it’s worth another look. If Hollywood can’t come up with new ideas I’ll just keep watching the movies they are making sequels to or remaking then. Personally I blame Hot Fuzz!
