I will somehow find time to do some animation projects…

April 24th, 2007 by Frank

Simple, cute and effective animation in a music video for a song by some French bloke called Ridan.

Myself and Emmet have been talking about how we should really do some stuff using techniques something akin to this (simple 2d animation enhanced by some cool compositing), only much much better of course. Because we’re brilliant.

If I were you, I wouldn’t hold my breath just yet though… I promised a band I would do a music video for them about three years ago.. it’s still not done… (Sorry Declan).

It’s lovely, the whistling bears are my favourite part.

Have you ever seen the Moomins? Low relief models on layers of glass shot with a rostrum camera. Polish, 70s. I’d say you’d like it. Low tech but amazing depth and effects.

They sounded familiar, I did a search on YouTube and they LOOK familiar too… but in a hazy, I’d-forgoten-about-them-from-my-childhood kind of way… very beautiful. Must post the video here.

By the way - you might be interested in throwing your 2p into our discussion on immigration…!
