Register To Vote!

Monday, February 23rd, 2009 by Eoin

Anyone who regularly visits this site will remember Dave from his posts on here and the debates about the Lisbon Treaty. He will be running for the local elections in June and has posted an excellent guide to registering to vote on his blog.

I hear a lot of people complaining about a lot of things these days, but so many don’t vote. If you don’t agree with how things are being run then get registered and vote for what you believe in. Don’t just complain about it.

Dave couldn’t have made it any easier for you! :)

Aint It Cool News linked to this concept art. There’s a touch of Blade Runner about this one, which can only be a good thing.

Hopefully they’ll leave the helmet on this time! Who would you pick to play the Judge?

I’m never one to shy away from a good conspiracy theory but when I followed a link to this article I never expected to believe any of it.

Aparently there has been a rumour going around the internet about this for a while? This is the first I’ve heard of it!cia-seal

But there is a dark side to the success story that’s been spreading across the blogosphere. A complex but riveting Big Brother-type conspiracy theory which links Facebook to the CIA and the US Department of Defence.

The article goes on to say;

Facebook’s first round of venture capital funding ($US500,000) came from former Paypal CEO Peter Thiel. Author of anti-multicultural tome ‘The Diversity Myth’, he is also on the board of radical conservative group VanguardPAC.

Exactly one year after his death Heath Ledger received his 2nd Oscar nomination. Having Lost out for Brokeback Mountain in 2006, he’s the favourite to win Best Supporting Actor for his portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight. Despite the other surprises in this years list, I find it hard to look past the significance of this moment.

On January 22nd 2008 Heath Ledger died. The Oscar nominations were announced that day. Every year the Academy announces it’s nominations on a Tuesday, but the inauguration of Barrack Obama meant the announcement got pushed to a Thursday this year. January 22nd 2009.

Very strange and very sad. I personally believe that he would not have been nominated had he been alive. (more…)
