Very good! Your site is reaching Biblical proportions in terms of mirth but be braced for the conservative backlash.
The verbal/visual juxtapositioning displays the uncanny mental dexterity in the creators' minds. You boys are like a meeting of James Joyce and Sigmund Freud on acid.
Some weeks are better than others and this week is the best of all.
However, on a point of grammar, should there be a comma before the 'but'?
First off, thank you. That's one of those compliments which we're going to have to save and print on the back of books etc. Yes, we guess there could be a backlash but we're bound to offend people eventually. So why put it off.
On the point of grammar, we considered putting a comma before the 'but', but I thought it read better the way it stands.
lol funny stuff... one of the best so far...
Thanks guys!
p.e dant: whatever about book covers, I'm definitely showing that compliment to my mum. (probably the next time she asks why I waste so much time at the computer...)
With regard to backlash, it crossed my mind, but is it really offensive to anyone? I mean, I'm religious myself to a degree, even if I keep quiet about it... certainly more so than a lot of my peers anyway, and I don't find it offensive...
I guess as Bif says, we're bound to offend someone sooner or later anyway!
I must remember to post something on offensiveness on my blog when I'm less tired...
tb54: thanks! I'm inclined to agree with you! ;)
I wasn't really concentrating on the verbal/visual juxtapositioning displaying the uncanny mental dexterity in the creators' minds, I just thought it was freaken funny.
Saw you while surfing Blog Advance and loved this cartoon.
Deb
Thanks Clublint...
Of course now that you *have* considered the verbal/visual juxtapositioning displaying the uncanny mental dexterity in the creators' minds, you appreciate it all the more...
right...? ;)
best one yet.
I was going to say that your cartoons get funnier and funnier, but they are all so wicked funny that it can't be possible.
This is world class stuff. I've been reading for a while so I feel like I've gotten in on the ground floor.
Why would it be offensive? I think the vertically challenged people of today should actually be the ones offended and they should only be offended by the attitude of those that are offended by this cartoon, and not by the cartoon itself.
Great stuff!
Well, we haven't had any complaints yet anyhoo!
Thanks guys!
To be fair, since we've already implied that Mary was, well, pretty mercenary and that boredom was the biggest problem facing the crucified, I think we'll probably be ok.
Just passing through, I'm liking the blog by the way.
you just made me laugh for the firsttime today, thanks!
thanks lilly - i really like your sketches by the way - such as your drinking sketch on Flickr...
I like it! Have you seen cartoonchurch.com? This cartoon reminded me of Dave's stuff on there.
I made a bit of a mess of some links during the redesign so I had to delete some of my comments and post the again, here's the one for this cartoon:
I don't know about you, but I love this cartoon! I posted some stuff on the illustration of it over here... if anyone's interested... :)
