This could have been a really funny cartoon if the statement was something mor funnier...
Like wat sort of evil did they want to be delievered from any who??
yes i think it is stink
Na I think it is ok, not too bad, but not one of the best either
I like it.
I think you might have put a sign on the wall saying something like "Welcome to the town of Evil, Pop. 666" or something similar just to ram it home to the slower anonymous commenters above.
I don't know Tom, when people cut to the quick so clearly and incisively, maybe it's time we all reappraised what we're doing here. Maybe life is stink?
Very funny. I'm surprised by all the abuse you're getting cause they really brighten up my day and make me laugh when I'm stuck in this hell hole called work.
Keep 'em coming bif :)
You probably wouldn't be that surprised if you actually knew us. Glad we brighten up your day.
I'll try but, please, next time mention Frank as well. he throws some terrible hissy fits when people don't acknowledge his contribution.
Frank really has a thing for guys with red hair, doesn't he? One minor technical point here : post offices deliver items 'to' places and never 'from' places. Keeping this in mind, I think it would have made more sense if it read 'they were just adamant that they be delivered to good' instead of 'from evil'. but that would open a whole new can of worms
all quibbles aside, it still works in a fetishistic kind of way.
How the flippin' hell would it have worked if it was 'delivered to good' you nutter?? There's no such saying!!!
God help me but this life is stink alright...
I'm quite aware of how the postal system works. You are aware that wouldn't actually accept two people wrapped up in brown paper either, aren't you?
Frank does seem to have gotten quite fond of redheads. Strange.
Fetishistic? How? No, don't answer that. I don't want to know.
don't call me a nutter, i was just making a small point. If you disagree thats fine. Sheesh!!!
well, the fetishistic aspect is in the obsession to detail. If you look at it you'll notice how the couple are parcelled differently, the female seems to be stapled while the male is bound.
I think Frank will have to address that one. No pun intended...for once.
Oh and yes, could we refrain from throwing around insults like that. We will have to delete them in future. Even if they are in our defense.
I don't see the fethistic obsession to detail myself.. it looks to me like eva is wrapped with tiny strips of tape (not staples) and bruce is held together with huge strips of industrial duck tape. All frank is trying to say here is that men are stronger than women.. well it's more unconscious than deliberate so he's probably not trying to say that at all (even tho he obviously thinks that)
I would agree that there is something odd and weirdly sexual going on in this cartoon but I can't put my finger on it. Any suggestions?
There is nothing sexual about the cartoon on any level. No suggestions required. Any weird sexual comments will be deleted...probably
I suggest that frank seems to be quite fond of respectable young lads with red hair (but not necessarily in a weirdly sexual way)
I hope he's not sexist but there is some evidence for this
hmm. plenty of folk with time on their hands today.. :D
I dunnoe, I think they're just a couple who want to be delivered from Evil - they live in a normal little town like a lot of us, but the stresses of modern day living have pushed them to seek refuge where they can find it - the constant threat of terrorism and the incessant invasions of privacy have caused them to take far too literally a line from a prayer which is burned into the very conciousness of Catholics and other Christian faiths everywhere. They're confusion is symbolic of the human condition and how it has evolved in these violent times, latching onto to any glimmer of hope, regardless of how misinterpreted or hopeless it may be. The postal worker is openly confounded and may represent the modern clergy, mankinds subconscious, or even God himself, presented with the unenviable task of performing the impossible for the improbable.
But overall I think it is stink.
ok, but that doesn't explain the amount of foxy protagonists in your cartoons, most of whom are respectable young men with decent jobs and psychotic serial killers..
can we look forward to seeing stephen (your recurring serial killer) torturing eva and bruce next friday? its all a bit too American Psycho for my taste
By the way I dont think you're sexist, just misguided..
Well isn't it great that you have so much time on your hands to dwell on how misguided we are.
Maybe Boxes and FedEx, or a delivery van would have helped. But I still liked it.
The woes of the world 'it is stink'!
Some time ago you had a spate of comments, over-the-top complaints and offensive remarks that all turned out to be the work of ONE PERSON?!! My arse!!! I tend to somewhat agree with your admirers, however. Weird sex always springs to mind when I see your work.
I suspect there's some quack psychiatrist out there who, being too cheap to buy a set of Rorschach cards, has opted to direct her patients to your cartoons instead. I presume it's a her because I am sexist.
I think they need more postage.
But to screw with your minds some more...a couple days ago I deliverd a manaquin. *grins* The arms kept moving ...freaked me out when I opened the back of the truck and saw the arm sticking out of the package.
I had the same thing with a model I was trying to remove from my apartment the other night.. her arm was sticking out of my travel bag when I stuffed her in the trash compressor..
Pat...that was so wrong. At least I didn't talk about murder. I was atually talking about a non-living never been living manaquin.
