An Irish Gaping Void from Hell with an American name…
April 11th, 2007 by FrankPopping up on my blog-radar these days is American Hell. Gaping Void comparisons are unavoidable – even if there are considerable differences – if Gaping Void is too acerbic for you, American hell might be more your style.
Above is my favourite American Hell cartoon, depicting the degree to which our obsession with blogging can affect our ability to relate to the world outside our computers… as Homer Simpson would say, ‘it’s funny coz it’s true’.
American Hell is worth keeping an eye on, it’s good now and I get the feeling its developing into something really strong.
One criticism I have of the site is that there is no ‘About’ page – a quick search reveals that the author maintains IrishKC also, where you can find details of his other work and biographical details. For some reason IrishKC links to American Hell but American Hell does not seem to link to IrishKC. For those who couldn’t be arsed doing a quick search it might be a good idea!

Cheers – and guilty. An ‘About’ page has been on the to-do list since launch, but since then time somehow keeps evaporating. Given the lack of text entries it clearly needs one. It’s also where I intend to address the similarities with Gaping Void.
American Hell does actually link to Irish KC, but only to the cartoon section called The Hairdressers Guide to Information Technology. With the exception of the conversation pieces, not much else of the Irish or Oirish stuff is too relevant. I think.
Thanks again

Rich.. D’oh! Blame the foreign keyboards… fixed now! Even if it was true…
Eolai, I know the way! I have a list of things as long as my arm too!
Yeah, I just mentioned the linking as a possible way around having an about page – a shortcut in a way…
Great stuff, keep it up!
