Edward Kinsella III

adrien brody by edward kinsella Just came across the blog of freelance illustrator Edward Kinsella and was really impressed by this portrait of Adrien Brody. Not just is it an incredible physical likeness but it pretty much captures the public perception of the actor. If that makes any sense. If it doesn’t, so what, I’m used to not making sense to anyone.

Edward Kinsella is a resident of St. Louis, Missouri in the States. He majored in illustration at some place called the Ringling School of art and design in Florida and attended two years of the Illustration Academy. He now works as a freelance illustrator and he’s pretty bloody handy at it too.

Patchbox

It’s what you might call a cornucopia of illustrative talent, if you were inclined towards using words like cornucopia. Patchbox is a very simple, image based links page where artists post a thumnail pic linking to their site/blog. It’s a great idea dreamt up by the supremely talented Roberto Goring. Ta to Drawn, once again.

Eyeport Pixel Art

Wireless HouseAs you may have guessed from my post on Eboy, I do have a special place in my heart for pixel art. And respect for the patience it must take.

Eyeport.co.uk is the latest pixel art illustration site I have come across. Lee hasler, the artist, really brings his own style to the whole pixel art thing.

Check out the excellent illustration done for a magazine article about wireless homes - I sympathise, I wish I had wireless everything, but my computer set up looks worse than this illustration. Check out his site for more excellence. Image links to the larger version on his site.

Pascal Campion’s contribution to the Thunder Chunky Xmas Project - a sort of online advent calendar. Found through Drawn, like so many other things.

Eboy!

Weird Thing
I’ve come across Eboy before in some design magazine I think, but had forgotten about it until it was emailed to me today.

From the website:

EbOY is a small group of four people. The Berlin based group creates re-usable pixel objects and takes them to build complex and extensible artwork. Peter in New York works with vectors.

Their main thing seems to be illustration, check out these two:
