Amplive made an album of remixes of Radiohead’s ‘In Rainbows’ and got a cease and desist letter, he made a plea to Radiohead (see above), and it all ended happily and the album is available for free download.

Right now I’m listening to the album and so far I’m not impressed, opens with some tacky crap about every rainbow having a journey or something and goes on into the first track which has some dull rap mixed with the track Videotape.

The album is mixed by Amplive and features various Hip-Hoppy types. I’m three tracks in now and still not impressed. Still, it’s free and to each his own and all that, so go download and see what you think.

Me, I’m going to listen to it through and then go back to listening to the real deal.

UPDATE: “15 Stepz (ft. Codany Holiday)”, track 6, is pretty good.

Sometims people are a little incredulous when I tell them I saw Joe Dolan play in Cobh around the time he released “Joe’s 90’s”, but I did and it was a fantastic gig, I was sorry to hear he had passed away over Christmas.

Last ditch push to get Tom Waits the Christmas no.1… this is actually looking like it COULD happen, but it NEEDS people to buy the song. I bought it painlessly on iTunes for 99c - well worth the investment if Tom Waits gets the Irish Christmas No.1.

It’s at 19 in the iTunes chart alone, and Paddy Power were offering odds of 6 -1 when the organisers of this campaign last checked. With a last minute push this could become a reality!

I love a good music video, I love t-shirts, and I love animation. Put them all together and you get this amazing video from French group Justice, with animations from French designer So Me.

The track features sampling of The Jackson 5, and is very catchy, especially if you’ve been liking CSS and other retroelectro. Yes that’s a word I made up just now.
