Have they gone?

have they gone? by miss aniela As a rule of thumb, you can measure how hungover I am by the amount of time I spend on Flickr or Flickr related sites. So if Bundaberg rum has done nothing else for you, it has at least enriched your lives with the photographic work of Natalie Aniela Dybisz aka Miss Aniela. Now how’s that for an introduction?

Natalie is an English and Media student in England with a bit of a yen for self-portraits. Which is a good thing. She does a great line in surreal multiplicity shots, amongst other things. I’m way too foggy to come up with anything intelligent or insightful here, so I’ll leave it to the lady herself.

“My main line of photographic pursuit post-journalist is by far the self-portrait; artistic and unmainstream images using digital manipulation and a sprinkling of Nabokovian, Hitchcockian magic.

And she’s got a blog too, in case you’re interested. That alright, then?

light by Bettina Abruzzese

Continuing my, possibly, quite unsavoury fascination with self-portraits I give you Light by Argentinian Flickrette Bettina Abruzzese - who so positively eats up the lense that I could’ve taken all day deciding which image to use.

I debated whether I’d keep posting these flickr pics, seeing as frequently I have little to no information to impart about the photographers, but it was pointless because I always knew which way the argument would go. I suppose I could always just make up a story based around what I do know but that would just be weird. Anyway, what I do know is she goes by the moniker j_photo, she’s Polish and, I’d imagine, she’s got a great future ahead of her if she pursues photography as a career. She might have a great future ahead of her if she pursues something else as a career but I’m not in a position to comment on that. On the photography front though, there’s a lot going on worthy of comment. She can do sensual, sexy, witty, charming, thoughtful, etc etc etc. She’s got a website and if you can read Polish then you might even find out more about her. I can’t so I’ll just stick to admiring the photography.

I don’t know entirely when it stops being art appreciation and becomes leering but if George says it’s a respectful celebration of women, their face, body, and the beautiful inspiration they bring to our world, then I’m inclined to agree. Seriously though, whichever way you want to look at it, the man is a very talented photographer.

there is still colour in my heart

Albuskina is her flickr tag but apart from that I don’t really know anything about her. Just a bit bored and ended up looking around self-portraits, as I do. I was really struck by a number of her pics - not all of them including the lady herself either. Not that you should consider that any sort of redemption.
