After Aston Villa´s win in 1982 the English dominance of the European Cup was ended by Hamburger SV in 1983. It saw a run of 6 straigh victories for English clubs. Hamburg interuption proved toonly be a blip as in1984 Liverpool were back again!

It was Roma in Rome and it was penalties.

After taking a break in 1979 and 1980 to let Nottingham Forrest do back-to-back wins Liverpool returned to the European Cup Final in 1981.

This time it was in Paris and Liverpool faced the team who have won the European Cup more times than any other team, Real Madrid. No problems!

The following year, 1978, Bob Paisley´s Liverpool did it again! When you consider that nobody has managed to retain this trophy since the European Cup became the Champions League in the early 1990´s, you get an idea of just how big an achievement this was.

The game was in Wembley and it was Liverpool Vs. FC Bruges.

I know that there will be a lot of upset Chelsea fans and jealous Man United fans as we continue the build up to the Champions League Final. Here’s a little something on day two, to lighten the mood. Fun for all the family. Bouncing off Wenger’s head for extra points is pure genius!

Let me take you back 30 years. Liverpool had been showing their class for a good few years on the domestic front but the European Cup had always alluded the great Bill Shankly. Bob Paisley took over in 1974 and continued the domestic success. It’s AC Milan Vs. Liverpool again in this year’s Champions League Final. To celebrate Liverpool’s magnificent achievement of reaching their second Champions League Final in three years and 5th final in three years I’m having a week long build up.
