Quantum of Solace Theme Song Another Way To Die
September 19th, 2008 by EoinThe title says it all really. The theme tune for the new James Bond movie Quantum of Solace has hit the net and you can hear it here.
I’m not a huge fan of Bond songs in general. Live And Let Die was great, Goldeneye was good, I loved You Know My Name from Casino Royale as soon as I heard it and it worked really well in that opeing. This one didn’t do it for me. Sounds like it’s trying to be You Know My Name in places and never really got going.
What do you all think?

Is this a demo for the song, cos it sounds terrible. The vocals are sloppy, the performance sounds more lazy than laid back, and the whole thing is caked in reverb.
Amy Winehouse vomiting over a microphone would have sounded better than this.
“Bang, Bang” indeed.

Maybe? Never thought it might be a demo but considering it’s been leaked onto the net I guess it could be. Sounded better on my second listen today, but it’s hard to hear the vocals.
I hope you’re right ygoblin and that the real thing sounds much better.

Hey, if you go to http://www.thirdmanrecords.com/, you can hear the whole thing. I quite like it but then I’m a White Stripes fan so I’m a tad biased! It’s definitely not your typical Bond theme though; I’d say it’ll take some getting used to.

I gave it another listen just now. I thought the first version might have been a badly encoded mp3, giving it that wishywashy “hollow sound”, but the second version had the same feel. I’m trying to source a better copy now. Then I can finally let my humble opinion on it rest
