Dracula-esque coat of arms…

Coat of arms

It’s ages since I just posted something creative I had done, and while looking for something else completely I came across an illustration I did for a poster for Dracula, which wasn’t used in the end - it wasn’t really liked and we went in a whole new direction. You can check out the final poster if you want. Anyway, I messed around with the original illustration a bit tonight and thought I would share it with you. Why not eh? I like the up close detail too…

I nice foray into the interesting world of heraldry Frank, well done. For the purpose of a poster I think the second, finished product was more effective.

Very nice work Frank, it really caught my eye this morning. It’s a shame it was never used for something else.

    Thanks Guys…!

Martin - yeah, agreed, that’s why despite the work put into it I was happy enough to abandon it, it wasn’t working out as a poster illustration

Gamma - ah sure, like loads of other stuff lying around in notebooks and hard drives it might find a home some time in the future.. :)

Well I do have this book on how to brew your own beer. It would make a hell of a label;)

I remember I liked it at the time but didn’t think it got the Dracula idea across. Not the idea that usually sells anyway. It would have made for a very interesting teaser campaign though and I seem to remember you saying something like that at the time.

Who knows, maybe we’ll do it again? ;)

    sounds good to me martin!

eoin… yeah, I liked the idea that it was different to the usual dracula stuff though.. but in fairness I never did find a way to create a good poster from it. The idea came from that book I never finished about the woman who rediscovers dracula… remember at the start of the book they described the coat of arms? The director originally thought something like that would be good…

Wasn’t there talk of putting just the coat of arms up around the place and then the coat of arms with the word Dracula on it? Then into the full poster from there. We’d have had to link the coat of arms into the poster of course.

Niiiiiiccceee. You should get back into drawing and putting it up here. Acting, sure that’s just messin’. Drawrin’, that’s the stuff.

Oh and Martin, never was an image so asking for an original beer to wrap itself round. Mmmm. Beer.

I like the tarnished look you gave it, very authentic.
