I know they shouldn’t but they really do annoy me - words like shopaholic or carjack. They don’t make sense. Alcoholic makes sense because it contains the word alcohol. Aholic appears nowhere in shop, shopping, chocolate or any of those other addictions we like to tag it onto. As for carjacking, that’s just robbing a car. If you forced the driver of the car to drive you somewhere, well then it would still just be hijacking. What? Do you think the ‘hi’ is some sort of reference to flying? Idiots!
