Martyr To The Cause…almost
December 14th, 2006 by BifThere may be things worth setting yourself alight in protest at but this wasn’t one of them. To be fair, though, every football fan has probably wanted to storm Merrion square at some stage or other. In this instance the fan was furious at Dundalk’s exclusion from next years 12 team premiership and wasn’t going to take it lying down. His actions seem to have prompted the FAI to publish a statement outlining why Dundalk have nothing to complain about - though at no point do they explain why a club with no ground as yet, Shamrock Rovers, meet the criteria set out over Dundalk. Now if the Irish Government had to deal with passion like this, there’d have been a people’s revolution long time ago.

Good footage. Did the young cop throw him in a lighter? Fair play for the guy for having the courage of his convictions and making his protest the way he did. It does seem harsh on Dundalk, I couldn’t even read through that FAI statement-just more bloody waffle from bureuocrats. Himself and the fella who stormed onto Late Late Show to abuse Pat the Plank and then later drive through Montrose should get together and start some kind of movement-they’d get my vote anyday.

Yes, ‘The Highly Emotional, Overreacting and Disproportionally Angry Party’ would get my vote too.

You’re just saying that Bif because you’re not from Dundalk!
