Gaiety School of Acting is organizing a
Stage Combat Boot Camp
This intensive 5 day training workshop introduces students to stage combat techniques. The course consists of a comprehensive exploration of various combat modes including rapier and dagger, sword, and unarmed combat.
Paul Burke, IDCA Instructor/Equity Fight Director will run this course. He will use with the same approach that he used when he was
part of the team that trained the lead actors for King Arthur. Paul boasts a wealth of experience in international workshop teaching and lecturing, and has an impressive list of credits in theatre, film and television. Paul will be accompanied by a trained fight coordinator and facilitator.
This is a very intensive course that would be very valuable for any performer approaching a movie. The course will include rapier and dagger fight performance system, unarmed combat for stage and screen, broadsword and some acrobatics .
Dates: 13th August - 17th August
Fees must be paid in full by Friday 3rd of August.
Days: Monday - Friday (over 1 week)
Cost: €400
Age: 18+
Location: South Parish Community Hall, Cork

LYT (Limerick Youth Theatre) is looking a
GENERAL MANAGER
Salary range €14,000 to €18,000 per annum
Award-winning Limerick Youth Theatre are one of Ireland’s most original and exciting youth arts organisations producing theatre
performance, live art, radio and film. The organisation is now looking for a General Manager to work alongside both the Artistic Director and the Outreach Officer as part of a recent expansion programme.
The Post Holder will be an excellent arts administrator with experience of both financial management plus marketing & PR who will:
act as LYT Office Manager, Oversee, manage and coordinate all legal documentation, company administration and fundraising and sponsorship opportunities. The General Manager will be the first point of contact of LYT and as such should be extremely organised and have an ability to interact and communicate well with both the Press, LYT Stakeholders, Funders and most importantly young people. It is essential that the post holder possess a good working knowledge of youth arts practices and networks as well as a good knowledge of other art forms/cultural developments (particularly those relevant to young people).
The position requires a motivated and ambitious individual with some primary arts administration and financial management experience to coordinate the efficient and effective management of LYT. Applicants should be able to demonstrate excellent organisation skills, creative thinking and problem solving, excellent business planning, strong financial management skills and be prepared to work in a small team in a regenerating and expanding cultural city.
The post is considered to be part time and up to 20 hours per week with potential for flexible working hours (subject to negotiation). This is reflected in the salary offered above.
